PUR – polyurethane
Polyurethane (PUR) is a type of synthetic resin. Because the material is mold and rot resistant, it can be used in many ways. There are different variants, including hard, brittle, soft, and elastic, available for different applications. Soft is very useful for inlays in the packaging industry, and hard polyurethane is useful for shoe soles in the shoe industry.
Laser cutting PUR
Polyurethane inlays work well for laser cutting. We have lots of experience with this; no shape is too complex. Because there are no extreme pushing or pulling forces on the material, it is a lot easier to keep its tolerance. PUR can be used for laser cutting up to a thickness of 15 millimeters.
Why PUR?
- Rot and mold resistant
- Isolating properties
- Heat and frost resistant (50 °C tot +100 °C)
- Chemical resistance
